In 2008 an artistic action paid tribute to the Gedächtniskirche, the famous memorial in Berlin. The church, built in 1891 and consecrated to Emperor Guillaume II, was shelled in 1943. In 1959, a memorial was put up around the ruin. It is one of the capital’s most visited sites.
Twelve international artists were asked to dedicate and give the monument a work. It was my pleasure to meet Maddy Rosenberg (USA), Rachel Lumsden (UK), Sergio Sunblad (ARG), Oleg Ikona (RUS) Iwona Cur (POL), Shon So Young (KOR), Antonio Bueno Tubia (ESP), Léo Königsberg (AUT), Adnan Kalkanci (TUR), Rolf Biebl (GER) and Angiola Bonanni (ITA).
